  • Teachers receive a minimum of 18 hours of professional development per year.
  • Literacy efforts featuring reading incentives and summer reading program for elementary age children.
  • Enrichment opportunities such as art, science, and physical fitness. 
  • Partnerships with United Way’s Read to Succeed kindergarten readiness program Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee’s Childcare Nashville initiative. 
  • Partnerships with educational and child development experts: RIP (Regional Intervention Program), Sprocket Therapy Solutions, VU Behavior Study, and Tennessee Voices for Children.
  • Hands-on volunteers for classroom needs, tutoring, reading, and more.

  • Tuition scholarships based on household income and size – over 80% of our families qualify. 
  • Family Empowerment Program offers on-site case management and financial counseling to families to help with economic security and educational success both for the caregiver and the child(ren)s future. 
  • 6 – 8 Family Nights per year to include an annual Open House, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) Night, Summer Reading Family Field Day, and more!
  • Offer holiday adoption and gift assistance, back to school drives, and packages for basic household and family needs.



  • The oldest childcare center in Nashville with over 125 years in the community.
  • Doubled the size of infant and toddler classroom capabilities in 2018.
  • Partnered with MDHA for much-needed capital facility improvements through multiple funding collaborations.
  • Celebrated 100th Anniversary of Caroling for Kids an annual caroling fundraiser and Nashville tradition, in 2016. 
  • Held 5th Annual Yum!East food tasting featuring East Nashville’s best restaurants in 2017. 
  • Fannie Battle selected as beneficiary for multiple community-wide organizations’s events, such as Vanderbilt’s Kick Off Cook Off, Bloody Mary Festival, and Smith & Lentz’s Pintwood Derby. 
  • Participant of Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee’s The Big Payback annual day of online giving.
